Showing Rules
1.
Entries by post and on the day and will only be accepted with the
correct entry fee. (cheques made payable to G M Hemming)
2.
The judge’s decision is final and binding in all classes.
Competitors are reminded that it is unethical to present
their animal under a judge who has a vested interest in it.
3.
A Judge may require that a horse/pony which constitutes a danger
leaves the ring.
4.
Entry fees cannot be refunded on late cancellations.
Part entry fee will be refunded only on the production of a
valid vet/Doctors certificate.
This will be strictly adhered
too!!
5.
Objections may only be made by an exhibitor at the event within 30
min’s of the end of the class, A Sum of £25 will be required which
will be refunded if the complaint is upheld by the judge.
All objections shall be dealt
with by the centre and their word is final.
6.
To enter and compete at the trailblazers championships, the horse or
pony entered must not change name nor may a substitute horse or piny
be used. The combination
must stay the same including the handlers.
7.
Abbey Dressage, or any person acting on their behalf do not accept
Liability for accident, damage or any loss to anyone, animal or
property whatsoever whilst at the show meeting.
8.
Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday on the day
of the show.
9.
Horses and ponies must be four years old and over to be eligible to
compete in ridden classes.
The age should be calculated from the 1st January
in the year of their birth.
10.
Stallions/Colts may not be led by any junior who has not attained
their 16th birthday before January 1st in the
current year at any show affiliating to trailblazers showing.
The competitor/ Handler is responsible for the duty of care
to other competitors and general public at all times.
11.
Young stock classes will not be eligible for qualification until
after the 1st January of the current championship year.
This will ensure that the ages of the young stock are correct
for the championship Finals.
12.
No horse or pony may enter the ring after the judging process has
begun and the steward has closed the ring.
In the event of the rider or handler leaving the ring they
must be present for the final assessment and presentation of awards.
The class is complete when the judge dismisses the class.
13.
A fall of Pony/Horse or rider in any class will result in the
disqualification and they MUST leave the ring dismounted
14.
Correctly secured British Standard Skull Cap/ Riding Hats, meeting
all CURRENT British safety standards MUST be worn at all times when
mounted.
15.
Handlers must be smartly dressed.
Handlers under the age of 16 should wear British standard
skull caps/ Riding hats.
16.
During a class a rider must wear the correct headgear in accordance
to rule 13 and must wear a Riding Jacket, shirt, tie or stock, a
pair of breeches or jodhpurs and a pair of top boots or Jodhpur
boots.
17.
Gaiters may be worn (colour matching the Jodhpur boot) Chaps are not
permitted. Earrings and body studs SHOULD NOT be worn.
18.
Mobile telephones and ear pieces must not be taken into the ring.
19.
Horses and ponies should be shown in a bridle suitable for their
type/Class. Judges
opinion on suitable bridles may vary and their decision is final.
20.
No Item of tack/ Equipment to be used inappropriately or In a manner
deemed cruel by the judge, Show Directors or Centre Owners.
21.
No running reins/Draw reins to be worn in a class or main arena at
any time.
22.
In ALL classes whips are not to exceed 75cms (30ins)
23.
No Haynets to be tied outside
Lorries or trailers.
Please pick up your droppings from the car park area.
24.
The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry cancel or even
split a class, withhold a prize or disqualify a competitor for any
reason they deem necessary

No lungeing
26.
Dogs must remain
in the lorry park at all times.
Can you also ensure that you please clean up after them
